And do you know what the average size of each individual donation was?
Me neither, but I have a sneaking suspicion that it rhymes with ‘Fun? We never bothered.”
Then again, the average may be trending a touch higher by now, possibly into the thirty dollar range. But we can’t let facts get in the way of a good campaign slogan can we? Is it now time to admit that the big money donors have finally crashed the Sanders’ party? Well, we’ll have to hold out until tomorrow to find out.
Politico:
As of 8 a.m. Thursday morning, the Sanders' campaign has raised a more than $39.7 million ahead of the midnight Federal Election Commission deadline, with average contributions coming in at $27 apiece. The campaign has in recent days sold "Birdie Sanders" stickers after a bird landed on the Vermont senator's lectern as he spoke in Portland, Oregon, last Friday. But the "birdie" is about to go bye-bye, Weaver warned in an email to supporters Wednesday evening.
The campaign, through Weaver, has ominously stated:
"We can't be clear enough: this is your last opportunity to get Birdie Sanders stickers," he wrote. "They'll disappear before tomorrow night's FEC fundraising deadline."
So be aware that you have until midnight to donate before this month’s FEC filing and pic up this nifty little bit of campaign memorabilia. You can donate at berniesanders.com. You know you want to.
